My name is Phillip Scott Bowden, otherwise known by the handle “pbowden” around the Internet.
My last name is pronounced |Bou|den instead of |Bō|den. However, as an acutely shy child, I gave up on correcting people by first-grade role call. I’m twenty-two and currently living in the downtown area of Austin. Previously I spent two years living in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and eighteen years living in Corpus Christi. Accordingly, messing with Texas is a core compentency.
I currently work at Gowalla, a location sharing and discovery service. Day-to-day I work on the Gowalla iPhone client. Previously I worked as a freelance Cocoa developer. I’ve been doing Mac development since 2004, the year I turned from my neckbeardy Linux ways. On a related note, I am well-versed in the art of neckbeard maintenance.
My primary interest and hobby is programming. I am particularly obsessed with human-computer interaction, user interface design and progrmaming language design. My current aim in life is to build simple, useful, beautiful things that might bring people joy or help them to create something.
My interests outside of programming include writing, film, music, architecture, economics, education and gaming. I have strong opinions about all of these. I love good tacos, good coffee, and good beer. I really enjoy long walks.
This is where I write about the aforementioned interests and obsessions.
